Senior Photos at Village Commons Park in Buckeye, Arizona

High school senior sitting amongst trees at Village Commons Park

Graduating High School is a huge achievement and one that needs to be celebrated. But graduating a whole year early? That's just showing off. Showing off is just what Addison did by graduating from Valley Vista High school a year early. She earned every bit of the flowers that will be thrown her way including a senior photo session at the beautiful Village Commons Park here in Buckeye, Arizona.

Addison's Story

Addison isn't your typical senior. For starters, she doesn't like comedies whether it be movies or shows... but she is extremely hilarious herself. She prefers to quench her entertainment thirst with Criminal Minds and You. Her music of choice is 2000's pop music which I can greatly appreciate. I was a teenager during the prime pop days back then; however, I was also a teenage boy so I had to pretend like I didn't like it. I'm free from those shackles now so we shared in good conversation about pop hits. Oh, and like I mentioned before, she's graduating a year early! She will be taking that drive and determination into getting her RN and BSN. I couldn't be happier to be commemorating this achievement with her. I have a feeling she is going to have many more in her future.

The Green Beauty of Village Commons Park

Let's face it. There's not much green in Phoenix, Arizona. Sure, there's a tree or a bush here and there but nothing, I would say, is lush. It's the desert and with that does come its own charm and beauty but sometimes it would be nice to have some color and sign of life. Many think you would have to go to Sedona or Flagstaff for any real chance of that but I'm happy to tell you there is Village Commons Park and the surrounding neighborhood. When scouting the location, I was taken aback by the grass and tall trees. Up the road from the park was Main Street at Verrado, a quaint little downtown area with some dining areas and places to shop. Continuing down this road is a residential area where the green doesn't stop. The tall trees lined up and down this neighborhood acts as a tremendous shield from the heat. When was the last time you were in Phoenix and weren't completely exposed to the sun?

Letting Her Personality Shine Through

Before the session started, Addison confessed that she was nervous and that she is not good at having pictures taken of herself (everyone says this and it's never true). From the moment I turned my camera on and until the last picture was taken, she nailed every single pose I gave her. She took each one of them and added her own personality to it. I love when my seniors do this. If I ask you to stand in a certain spot with your arms crossed and then you end up throwing a goofy, funny face at me, that's the real you shining through. That's what your session should be.

Ready to Book?

If you're a senior and you are ready to book your senior photos at Village Commons Park, or anywhere else, don't hesitate to reach out to me. I'll then get to know who you are, and we can start planning the best session possible to take photos that reflect this.
